This training is a must! Every day, we come into contact with people with difficult personalities (colleagues, family members, customers, etc.).

This training aimed at healthcare professionals meets several objectives of the MSSS Mental Health Action Plan 2022-2025. People with difficult personalities pose a challenge to front-line workers (nurses, social workers, doctors, etc.) who bear this enormous burden. These borderline personalities challenge our values and skills, and force us to redefine our traditional interventions.

Description

It is estimated that approximately 20% of Canadians will be affected by a mental health disorder in their lifetime.   Today, 15 % of us are living with a mental health problem.  Personality disorders are one of them, and cause a great deal of suffering.   They have a considerable impact on the sufferer and those around him or her.   Sufferers generally have enormous difficulty establishing and maintaining relationships with others.  This leads to distress and reduced self-esteem.

These people often suffer from other chronic illnesses, multiple addictions and poly-drug use.  This makes it more difficult to express and understand many symptoms, such as pain.   Hence the need to apply intervention strategies to make it easier to welcome these people with respect.  These suffering people often challenge our values and skills, forcing us to redefine our traditional ways of acting.

1 review for Troubles de la personnalité et relations difficiles : trousse pour intervenir WEBINAIRE

  1. Annie Charbonneau -

The trainer was very dynamic. She knew her subject relatively well, but I felt she was too categorical in some of her assertions. Reality is more nuanced than she described. On the other hand, not all my questions were answered. All in all, it was an interesting course.

    • Mireille Guillemette -

Thank you for your constructive comment. I value your opinion.
